As I think, "What's your hobby?" question is really boring (it only exist on learning Eng text book) and I'd never been aksed like that question before employment preparation(?취업 준비).
In Kor, some company's application questions is this, that I wonder what is difference btw hobby and Special ability특기. and then I know that hobby was some activities for just fun and you didn't need to be good at but when you wanna say you have special abilities, that mean you are better than others.
After that relization, hobby has been downgraded as package that i use when i explain myself to some company, not explain about what really i am.
In today class, teacher made hobby was little bit productive(생산적인) and positive action distinguished from time killing doing.
However, I sort of disagree about his opinion.
It was a little bit hard for me to empathize.
On the application paper, it could be, but not all hobbies need to be advanced.
someone who asks you about hobby normally doesn't want to know how productive you are
rather than, just want to find common interest.
watching Youtube couldn't be good as much as reading books. You can read books as time killing activities and watching Youtube as activity that can gain deeper understand about what you interested in.
Moreover, What's the problem of that the 'hobby' is time killing during the free time?
How spend the time of freetime also appear who you are.
Therefore I think this is ambiguous to tell clearly.
취미가 뭐냐는 질문 살면서 받아본 적 없어서
생각해본 적 없었는데
취업준비할 때 취미랑 특기 어케 구분하냐고 물었을 때 처음으로
취미는 즐기는거고 특기는 남들이랑 비교해서 특출나게 잘하는 거라고 들은 기억이 남.
그 이후로 취미라는 건
나를 설명하는 어떤 행동이 아니라
나를 회사에 팔 때 포장하는 것으로 격하되엇음.
선생님은 수업에서 취미는
단순히 시간 떼우는 것과 구분되는
좀 생산적인 것과 긍정적인 행동으로 연결시켰지만
나는 이 말에는 솔직히 공감하기 조금 어려웠음.
왜냐하면 취준생일 때 서류에 쓰는 거야 그럴 수 있지만
모두의 취미가 발전적일 필요는 없잖음?
누군가에게 캐쥬얼하게 취미가 뭐냐고 물어보는건
당신의 긍정적인 모습이 뭐냐고 물어보고 싶은게 아니라
그냥 작은 공감대 형성을 하고 싶은 것 뿐임.
관심사가 뭔지, 뭘 좋아하는지.
책보다 유튜브 영상 보는걸 좋아한다고 그게 더 나쁜건 아니라고 생각함.
책을 봐도 킬링타임용을 볼 수도 있고, 영상을 봐도 좀 더 지식을 알 수 있는 걸 볼 수도 있지.
그리고 여가시간에 가볍게 즐기는 취미가
시간 떼우는 용이면 어떰?
휴식을 어떤 방식으로 누리느냐도
사람의 관심사를 나타낼 수 있다고 생각함
그래서 그 경계를 딱 잘라 나누기는 모호하다고 생각함.
